Association of Medicine and Psychiatry - Mission is to improve the health of patients with concurrent physical and psychiatric issues.
Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry (GAP) - An organization of psychiatrists dedicated to shaping psychiatric thinking, public programs, and clinical practice in mental health.
International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology (ICSPP) - Nonprofit research and educational network concerned with the impact of mental health theories on public policy and the effects of therapeutic practices upon individual well-being, personal freedom, and family and community values.
National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS) - Represents behavioral healthcare systems.
Society of Biological Psychiatry - The Society of Biological Psychiatry encourages the study of the biological causes of and treatments for psychiatric disorders. Its continuing purpose is to promote excellence in scientific research and education in fields that investigate the nature, causes, mechanisms, and treatments of disorders of thought, emotion, or behavior.
World Psychiatric Association - Organization of psychiatric societies aimed at advancing psychiatric and mental health education, research, clinical care and public policy.
Board of Regents Funding for Textbooks
We are grateful to the Board of Regents for providing grant funding for us to license the electronic versions of some textbooks. This is part of a statewide grant to academic libraries to help reduce higher education student expenses for books. The LSU Health Shreveport Library was awarded this funding by LOUIS: The Louisiana Library Network to purchase access to five textbooks:
